VFW has made an historic event for a cause, the VFW Car Show at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 in Naperville. The event is for the National Navy Seal Museum and the Wounded Warriors Project. As their debut, the display area is filled with different classic cars. There are 30 vehicles that are restored to its finest form with a great touch to maintain its quality. As part of the show they had given 5 different raffles and prices. Rolf Snyder, the marketing director for the Navy Seal Museum noticed that the community of Naperville bonded together for this “heart-warming” auto show. There are donations from different companies such as the Sullivan’s Steakhouse, Black Finn Restaurant, Best Buy and Naperville Nuts and Sweets. An auction for a copy of “Lone Survivor: An Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Navy Seal Team 10,” was donated by Anderson’s Bookstore.
A 1949 Kaiser Special owned by John Patti, long-gone 1967 Plymouth Barracuda with a 383 cubic-inch engine and a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro are some of the highlights in the show. The jet black 1966 Ford Mustang of Bill Shrink won the grand price on the said event. Patti said that he is already a member of the Kaiser-Frazer Club even without a car. Staff and many car enthusiasts want this car show annually as they love to see different cars in their place.
