A Warm Welcome to the New Chevy Beat in Indian Market

Chevy has introduced their latest car in Indian car market that offers unique looks, well-brought-up performance and with a good competitive in terms of price, and this vehicle is called the Chevrolet Beat. They installed a one liter three cylinder engine with a multi-jet diesel engine derivation. The Chevy Beat develops a modest 58 BHP and is very obvious when it has a full load. For its mid-range size, it makes a short work of general overtaking and quick exits from the traffic lights. It has also a great positive aspect in terms of fuel stinginess as it provides 16 kpl in city conditions.

The new Beat has a top speed of 135km/hr. The wider tires give this car better rides compare to the inflexible character of petrol. Though there are still no adjustments to the Chevy’s standard equipment and style. With its fuel economy and sole looks, the new Chevy Beat will have a good fight against its competitors in the car industry today.

Offering New Features – 13th Annual Gibb Car Show

Fred Gibb Memorial had their 13th Annual Car Show last Saturday, August 6 at LaHarpe. The event starts in Monmouth on Friday before travelling to LaHarpe for Saturday’s show. After on LaHarpe they moved to Macomb square on Saturday night.

The show had over 100 pre entries with lots of new cars that are first time in the said event. One of these cars is a rare vehicle named 1954 Corvette which known as the bubble top. Participants from different places such as California, Texas, Florida, Michigan, Georgia and other states are present in the car show which helps to feature 45 classes of cars. Race cars, performance cars, and the old & new collection of ZL-1 are in the display area that is originally from Fred Gibb. Raffles, auction, music, food and other entertainments are the things that they enjoyed a lot during that event. Shottenkirk’s of Fort Madison, Iowa donated a 427 engine for the raffle and this engine is worth over $28,000. They had a special auction for the benefit of Jamie Shuda who has a breast cancer and a 50/50 raffle for the veterans of World War II. The show started it with a biscuits and gravy breakfast at 7am. Registrations begin at 8am to 11am with an entrance fee of $15. The Illinois National Guard Military Funeral Honor led the singing of the National Anthem and the presentation of colors.  Judging time initiated at 11am to 2pm and giving of awards at 3:30pm.

Jabra has unveiled their newest in-car speakerphone that is easy to use and has the capability to have Bluetooth connectivity, noise cancellation technology and high quality sound called Jabra DRIVE. Some of its features came from their predecessor that offers good quality of technology giving the drivers and passengers a safe and comfortable ride. In terms of phone calls, Jabra DRIVE has wireless capabilities; wireless in-car speakerphone automatically pairs with two elected Bluetooth devices, requiring no further installation for stress-free connectivity on the road. This device is equipped with a microphone and a digital signal processing sound technology for noise cancellation and echo reduction. DRIVE has remarkable features such as large control buttons with automatic adjustments, voice guidance system that states low battery status and Bluetooth connection, auto pairing to mobile phone, Multiuse – connects to 2 Bluetooth devices at the same time, stream audio from GPS apps and a crystal clear sound.

The 2014 BMW 1 Series

BMW keeps developing cars from outstanding features to stunning engines that can give satisfaction to the customers. From another series of car, here comes the 2014 BMW 1 series that will surely bring toughness in car market. From the spy photo, this model is a compact five door hatchback with well-defined concept and style. The next 1 series is called the Family Activity Sports Tourer or FAST that includes 3-door hatchback.

As far as the prediction is concern, the new 1 series will developed a common architecture for front and four wheel drive which is a standard for this vehicle. The exact specs from its interior to the mechanical features under the hood are not yet been released but it could be powered by a turbocharged, direct injected three and four cylinder engines that can produce a power from 75 to more than 200 horsepower.

As an aim of BMW to reach an even production of front drive and rear drive car, this could be the start of it. It will launch in Europe on 2014 and it is not sure if the new 1 series will be available in America.

Journey for a Cause – VFW Car Show

VFW has made an historic event for a cause, the VFW Car Show at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 in Naperville. The event is for the National Navy Seal Museum and the Wounded Warriors Project. As their debut, the display area is filled with different classic cars. There are 30 vehicles that are restored to its finest form with a great touch to maintain its quality. As part of the show they had given 5 different raffles and prices. Rolf Snyder, the marketing director for the Navy Seal Museum noticed that the community of Naperville bonded together for this “heart-warming” auto show. There are donations from different companies such as the Sullivan’s Steakhouse, Black Finn Restaurant, Best Buy and Naperville Nuts and Sweets. An auction for a copy of “Lone Survivor: An Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Navy Seal Team 10,” was donated by Anderson’s Bookstore.

A 1949 Kaiser Special owned by John Patti, long-gone 1967 Plymouth Barracuda with a 383 cubic-inch engine and a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro are some of the highlights in the show. The jet black 1966 Ford Mustang of Bill Shrink won the grand price on the said event. Patti said that he is already a member of the Kaiser-Frazer Club even without a car. Staff and many car enthusiasts want this car show annually as they love to see different cars in their place.

Mercedes Benz’s Future Infotainment System

The newest and the most advanced infotainment system and technological features have a furious battle in the car industry today. The different car manufacturers are trying to develop such systems and enhanced their previous one just to be more viable in the market as well as bringing comfort to the passengers. One of the most known producers of good cars with reliable system, Mercedes Benz, is trying to bring their infotainment system into the next level. Cracking into the next generation of infotainment system is a plan that Mercedes will bring in the upcoming years. And this system is called the COMMAND, i-Drive or MMI. 3D technology is one of their future concepts in infotainment system as they are involved in researching 3D displays that could cover for potential systems. Unlike the previous voice commands, Mercedes engineers are working on voice commands with natural transcriptions. In just a simple command, anything would they say, in emails, text message or browsing. The new feature that they are trying to develop is the gesture control – handwriting recognition and gesture control for interior lighting.

First Way on the Road – 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec

Hyundai had successfully joined the luxury car industry when they revealed their Genesis model last 2009. As far as the competition is concern, Hyundai enhanced their previous model of Genesis into an outstanding one called the 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec.

Providing a very competitive power-train, R-Spec is using a 5.0 liter DOHC V8 engine that has a power of 429 horsepower with 376 lb-ft of torque. With the help of Gasoline Direct Injection and variable valve timing, the new 5.0 makes a lot of difference, “breathing nothing but air”. Unlike the other cars that are equipped with turbochargers and superchargers, the new Genesis has natural aspirated engine. The said concept has the ability to produce a throttle response that is exclusive for natural aspirated engines only. A lightweight concept and breakable parts are also installed in this model. The 2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan has the ability to sprint from 0-60 mph at about 5 seconds, having 1,500 rpm in 300 lb-ft of torque and 6,400 in its power. Restoring the suspension tuning helps it to become more spirited to its opponents. Having a 19mm rear sway bar, higher spring rates and higher damping rated shocks makes a lot of from its predecessors. A non-existent, crisp, and informative body roll and excellent steering wheel are some of the features in this class.

The First St. John Car Show

The first ever St. John Car Show will start on Saturday at the St. John Lutheran Church parking area in 7214 Cass Avenue. This is an event that a car fanatic should never miss. The said show will start from 8am to 3pm with 60-70 cars are expected to join this Car Show. The show coordinator said that they made this event to help and support one of the well-known members of St. John family, Shami the Comfort Dog.

Shami is a 2 year old golden retriever that is trained to be a good friend, spread little joy to the people and to provide peace and comfort. And also they have noticed that there are many people having tough times today. This car show may be the reason to have fun in the community. As Swatson said, “I’m looking forward to the place being full of wonderful cars and people walking around and having a good time”. Aside from the different cars, the congregation member also prepared some foods like hotdogs. A music powered by Platinum Events and Promotions is also present – enjoying the music while having a good time watching different display of cars in the area. They also give prizes and raffles as some of the local businesses have donated for the event such as a $60 gift basket from Culvers, $35 in Buona Beef gift cards and a gift basket from Avon. There are eight prizes that will be given in the show including the Pastor’s Choice and Best of Show Awards. The event is for free, no entrance fee but there is a $10 entry fee for participating cars.

Fastest Car in C-Class – C63 AMG Coupe Black Series

Mercedes Benz has revealed the fastest car in its C-Class named the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series. This is the fourth series model since 2006 but now it has exceptional boost compare to the old model. The new C63 was revealed during the Formula One German Grand Prix with an intensifying power of 380 kW using a V8 engine. The said model is considered as the most powerful in the German car maker’s volume-selling range. A pinch from the standard 6.2 liter V8 C63 to increase the power which gains new control unit and phony pistons, connecting rods and lightweight crankshaft that comes from the SLS Gullwing supercar. C63 AMG Coupe Black Series can sprint from 0-100 km/hr at about 4.2 seconds, trimming two tenths of a second from the previous C63 enough to become the fastest car in C-Class. Aside from its killer power-train, they also improve some of its parts such as the much bigger air intakes and brakes, larger oil cooler, rear locking differential, adjustable suspension, wider front and rear axles and a dual clutch gearbox that can change gears in just 100 milliseconds. When it comes to the interior, the new C63 features bucket seats for driver and passenger with carbon fiber trim and a steering wheel that is motivated from an F1 with flattened top and bottom sections.

Test Drive of the 2013 Lexus GS Prototype

The 2013 Lexus GS Prototype is having its test drive as they will start selling early next year and the production car’s styling of this model has not yet been revealed. On the driver seat you will see the improvement of dashboard, a 12.3 inches widescreen LCD with a more elegant and lavish materials. A mouse type controller is the one who controlled the screen. When it comes to the specs under the hood, the new Lexus GS will be equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 six speed automatic engine. As far as the transmission calibration is concern, the car developer said that the development is still in progress.

The interior has an outstanding system that adds comfort to every passenger as well as the driver. You will hear less impact noise, less chassis flex over bumps and you will notice the big improvement with it comes to its rigidity. Compare to the system before, it is now quicker, slightly heavier and more natural. The new GS is having the Lexus Dynamic Handling System got even better.
